GRIFFAIN is an AI agent token on the Solana blockchain associated with Griffain, a platform whose "Agent Engine" translates user intent into onchain transactions. Launched in November 2024, it became one of the largest tokens of the AI agent meta that followed Goatseus Maximus.

Origin

Griffain was introduced around the Solana AI hackathon season of late 2024, with its token first listed on November 21, 2024. The pitch distinguished it from purely conversational agents such as ai16z's Eliza characters: rather than posting on X, Griffain agents were meant to act, executing swaps, sniping pump.fun launches, minting NFTs, and coordinating multiple specialized agents such as Agent Sniper and Agent GM. By mid December 2024 commentators described Griffain as the second largest AI agent launchpad on Solana behind Virtuals Protocol, and the platform later claimed more than one million automated transactions processed.

Market history

GRIFFAIN rode the January 2025 blowoff phase of the agent trade. The token reached an all time high of about 0.62 dollars on January 22, 2025, an implied market capitalization of roughly 620 million dollars against a supply of about one billion tokens. The date placed its peak at the very end of the agent mania, days after Official Trump drained speculative liquidity from the trenches.

Decline

The AI agent sector lost most of its aggregate value in February and March 2025, with sector trackers recording a drawdown of about two thirds in a matter of weeks, and GRIFFAIN fell with it. Unlike many peers the platform continued shipping product through 2025, but the token never recovered its speculative bid. By 2026 GRIFFAIN traded roughly 98 percent below its January 2025 high, and coverage of the project had shifted from price to its residual role as agent infrastructure on Solana.

Legacy

GRIFFAIN is cited as a representative case of the "agentic finance" branch of the AI meta: projects that promised working software rather than personality, attracted nine figure valuations on that promise, and still repriced like memecoins when the narrative rotated. It remains one of the more frequently referenced Solana agent platforms in retrospectives of the 2024 to 2025 cycle.
