Robinhood Chain is Robinhood's Ethereum layer 2 built on the Arbitrum stack, launched to mainnet in July 2026 for tokenized stocks and immediately colonized by a memecoin scene led by Cash Cat.

Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum layer 2 blockchain built by the brokerage Robinhood on Arbitrum's Orbit technology stack. Announced in June 2025 alongside Robinhood's European stock token rollout, it reached public mainnet on July 1, 2026, and within weeks had become one of the most discussed venues in the trenches, less for its intended purpose, tokenized equities, than for the memecoin casino that formed on top of it.

The chain

The network launched at Robinhood's "The World is Flat" keynote in London after a public testnet that recorded about 4 million transactions in its first week. It is fully EVM compatible, uses ETH as its gas token, and advertises 100 millisecond block times, with reporting citing chain ID 4663 and a Blockscout explorer. Uniswap deployed on day one, alongside integrations with Chainlink, Alchemy, and BitGo, plus Robinhood branded DeFi: lending through Robinhood Earn at around 7 percent APY and perpetual futures via the Lighter DEX. Estimates in August 2026 put total value locked in the hundreds of millions of dollars within six weeks, the majority of it stablecoins.

Tokenized stocks

The chain's headline product is Stock Tokens, on chain instruments tracking the economic performance of listed companies such as NVIDIA and Apple, available in over 120 countries without conferring legal ownership of the underlying shares. Tokens can be lent, used as collateral, and traded around the clock on Uniswap with Chainlink price feeds. Adoption ran behind the hype: one August 2026 analysis counted over 420,000 wallets holding tokenized assets but only about 13 million dollars in stock tokens, roughly a tenth of the value sitting in the chain's memecoins. Crypto Twitter nonetheless embraced the hybrid pitch; the WallStreetBets account framed it as "$GME but now onchain," with memecoins paired against real tokenized stocks.

The memecoin scene

Because the chain is permissionless, memecoins arrived within days of mainnet. The flagship is cash cat (CASHCAT), named after Robinhood's own mascot, which peaked around 150 to 220 million dollars in July 2026 and at one point drove roughly 17 percent of the chain's DEX volume; CoinDesk reported one trader turning 800 dollars into over 1 million on it in the chain's first week. A supporting cast followed, including Cash Dog and Hoodrat, along with chain local copies of Solana metas such as lmeow and chiikawa, while the early launchpad Noxa shut down in July 2026. On August 6, 2026, Robinhood listed CASHCAT for trading in its own app and on Robinhood Legend, sending it up sharply, and Crypto.com followed with a listing of its own. Robinhood operates the infrastructure but does not vet or endorse third party tokens, a distinction analysts warned retail buyers routinely miss. As of mid August 2026 the chain sits in an unusual position: a regulated brokerage's blockchain whose organic culture, so far, belongs to the trenches.
