lmeow is a cat coin identity spanning several chains and cycles, built on trader GCR's 2023 call for a cat token to flip dog coins, and revived on Solana in August 2026 as a cult coin with an explicit "flip DOGE" mission.
lmeow (LMEOW) is less a single token than a recurring meme coin identity organized around one idea: that a cat coin should flip the dog coins, above all dogecoin. The name has appeared on Ethereum, Solana, and other chains across multiple cycles, and in August 2026 a Solana version became part of the cult coin rotation on crypto Twitter.
GCR lore
The meme descends from GCR (GiganticRebirth, posting as @GCRClassic), a pseudonymous trader famous for his public bet against Terra's Do Kwon and a run of celebrated market calls. Accounts documenting the coin's history, including exchange research from Bitrue, trace it to a February 2023 GCR post saying he was "waiting for $LMEOW token that catalyzes a paradigm shift in meme investing away from dog tokens to cat tokens." An Ethereum token bearing the name, which trackers date to late 2022, repriced violently around the tweet and was later community run, with project pages describing it as the oldest cto cat coin on Ethereum. Price trackers record its all time high near 0.0986 dollars in November 2024, a market capitalization around 10 million dollars, followed by a drawdown of roughly 89 percent. It should be stressed that the association runs through the tweet, not the man: there is no public evidence that GCR launched, holds, or endorses any lmeow token.
The 2026 Solana revival
In early August 2026 a pump.fun launched lmeow ran on crypto Twitter with openly cult styled messaging. The account @LmeowGCRsol, whose handle itself invokes the GCR lore, posted "we won't give up until we flip DOGE... We need true holders again. $lmeow. We need a billion dollar runner again," and the ticker drew a concentrated week of attention. The revival leaned on the same holder culture language as the wider cults over cabals discourse: true believers, no insiders, a mission rather than a chart. As of mid August 2026 the wave had cooled, with the Solana token's market capitalization in the tens of thousands of dollars while the Ethereum original sat near 1.5 million dollars, and lookalike lmeow tokens were scattered across Solana, BSC, and robinhood chain.
Assessment
lmeow illustrates how trench lore compounds: a three year old tweet by a retired trader functions as scripture for successive relaunches, each claiming the mantle. Whether any of them constitutes the token GCR was "waiting for" is a matter of community faith rather than record.
