Origin

Darkfarms framed BOME as more than a coin: a project to immortalize memes by storing them on decentralized infrastructure such as Arweave and IPFS, wrapped around a tradable token. The presale opened on March 13, 2024, with participants sending SOL directly to the artist's wallet, an arrangement that would normally be read as a scam but which the market embraced; about 10,131 SOL was collected. The token went live on March 14, 2024.

Market history

BOME's rise was among the fastest in meme coin history. Its market capitalization hit 80 million dollars within hours, and within roughly 48 hours of launch it peaked at about 1.46 billion dollars. Binance announced a spot listing on March 16, 2024, two days after launch, one of the quickest major listings ever granted to a meme coin, with reporting noting the token had risen 345 percent in 24 hours around the announcement.
